Addrienne - Hotel engineering at sea level

About me: Adrienne Brown

Expertise in hotel-technical project management for smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

Who is Adrienne?

I am a freelancing engineer in building services and technologies. Making my first experiences in the real estate industry, I switched my field of work to the cruise industry, 7 years ago. I excel in managing and executing construction projects. I’m not just any engineer, I am a passionate problem solver and team player.

Leaving the traditional corporate world to bring my expertise to the next level was a leap of faith. My years of experience as a fleet facility manager and project engineer taught me the importance of efficient processes and clear communication. I am taking the best of what I’ve learned to deliver for the industry.

My own engineering business was founded in 2022 to tackle inefficiencies head-on and deliver top-notch results. The focus is on the essential stakeholders, alignment with ship standards, and bringing the best of my skills to each project. My goal is simple: to deliver the most exceptional quality and efficiency in every project I work on.

So, if you’re looking for an engineer who is not afraid to be bold, bring fresh ideas and execute challenging projects, then look no further. I am here to help you turn your vision into a reality!

My values

The core values that define me and my approach to work, people and life itself:

Enthusiasm is a part of me. I approach each day with excitement and energy. I spread it wherever I go. I bring my whole self to the table with boundless energy and a positive outlook. This sets me apart and helps me make a difference. I live life with passion, each day filled with excitement.

I embrace Tolerance with open arms. This belief was instilled in me at a young age and has only grown stronger as I’ve matured. It’s a value that drives me forward and guides me in every aspect of my life. I believe that people deserve to be accepted for who they are and to live freely without judgment. I’ve learned to appreciate the diversity of cultures, opinions, and beliefs that make up the world – and especially the life on board. And I’m dedicated to spreading this message of acceptance to others.

I embody Growth. I seek new experiences and challenge myself. I learn even from failures and keep growing. My core value drives me to be better every day. I live a life of constant self-discovery and growth. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I was born to explore. Independence drives me. I don’t follow the crowd, I blaze my own trail. With independence, I accomplish great things, see the world, meet amazing people, and live a life of excitement. A fulfilling life takes determination, independence, and a spirit of adventure.

Where to find me?

Germany is my home base, but I have a wandering spirit that takes me all across the continent.
My trusty mobile office, “Emilio” – a perfectly equipped FIAT – makes it easy for me to plan and execute projects on-site.
I don’t mind relocating myself to where the project is, for as long as it takes to get the job done.
My love for adventure and adaptability to new environments makes me the perfect fit for projects that require a lot of mobility – physically and mentally.
Whether I’m on the road, on-site, or at an office, I bring my passion and expertise to every project I work on.

But why the ships?

Growing up at the countryside, how did I land on ships?

After working as a well-paid shoreside engineer, doing engineering and projects in building services and fire protection, I decided that it was time for a new challenge (again).

So, I applied as a hotel engineer on board a cruise ship. Not really considering, that I could actually get the job. Imagine the astonishment when I actually got my first assignment – on board the oldest AIDA ship.

The first contract was quite a challenge – the job crazy and the crew nuts – I was sure I’d finish my contract and then someone else can deal with this madness… (if they don’t send me home early anyway.) But somehow it started to be fun… And since then I’ve seen the cruise industry from many perspectives; nearly 3 years during guest operation, for several months during the newbuild at Fincantieri Italy, and as part of the ship management team for a fleet of four.

And here I am, 6 years later, with a big package of additional experience under my belt and still in the same industry. And far from leaving anytime soon because it combines all my passions:

  • Taking care of ships, ensuring and improving good maintenance, performing interesting and awesome PROJECTS
  • Working with all different kinds of PEOPLE from all over the world and supporting them in their strive for improvement
  • Improving the PROCESSES of how we maintain the systems and equipment on board
  • Finding  PRODUCTS that help to improve the way we work in hotel engineering
